Incubator Fosters Public Health Graduate Student Learning

DrPH students in a meeting.

In August 2015, the Incubator’s Faculty Director, Dr. Sue J. Goldie, and Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health outgoing dean, Dr. Julio Frenk, co-led  an intensive non-credit course during orientation week for new Harvard Chan students. The success of the course sparked students’ interest to engage with the Incubator and use its resources for brainstorming, mentoring, and student-led research discussion. During the fall and spring of 2015-2016, approximately a dozen graduate students who participated in the orientation course—including both master’s and doctoral students—have met regularly at the Incubator to share ideas, develop research thinking, and explore innovative approaches to learning and teaching about public health. Drs. Cherie Ramirez, Deputy Director of the Learning Studios, and post-doctoral Fellow, Renuka Pandya, are coordinating these meetings with additional support from Senior Contributor Terry Aladjem. Further activities planned in the late spring of 2016; watch for more information!
