The [Harvard Division of Continuing Education ](http://www.dce.harvard.edu/)(DCE) includes the Harvard Summer School, Harvard Extension School, and learning opportunities for retirees and professional development. The Summer School offers more than 20 study abroad programs in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The Harvard Extension School offers more than 600 courses in the liberal arts and professional fields, including numerous foreign languages offerings. Students have the same opportunities as Harvard College students to participate in global health dialogue within and beyond the University in short-term collaborations, summer experiences, and formal and informal dialogue.

This [Harvard Extension course](https://courses.dce.harvard.edu/?details&srcdb=202602&crn=26828) discusses the problem of water scarcity and how it impacts food security, economic development, public health, energy production, and political conflict. Students will explore the intersection of environmental science, social science, and health.

The course will discuss how upstream determinants shape children's health, wellbeing, and future outcomes.
