[Harvard School of Dental Medicine](http://hsdm.harvard.edu/) (HSDM) launched an innovative new curriculum in 2015 which integrates oral health and primary care and gives first-year students and Harvard medical students the opportunity to gain primary care clinical experience earlier in their training. The school’s Office of Global and Community Health develops, promotes, and sustains initiatives in oral public health, both in the U.S. and around the globe. The office works with HSDM faculty and students to put the school’s vision for global health into practice and incorporate global health into the pre-and post-doctoral curricula. Through these efforts, faculty and students can expand externship and research opportunities, and integrate oral health issues into global health efforts across and beyond the University.

The [Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology](https://www.hsdm.harvard.edu/oral-health-policy-and-epidemiology) at Harvard Dental School aims to improve oral health and health equity through research, education, and public outreach. Research from department faculty includes addressing oral health disparities, public health approaches to oral disease prevention, and more.
