Harvard’s commitment to advance learning and research in the health of populations (“public health”) includes and incorporates research within and across global borders as it relates to the multifaceted aspects of “global health.” At the [Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health](https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/), global health is a focus both within the Department of Global Health and Population and across aspects of every academic department. For example, the Division of Policy Translation and Leadership Development enables global political and health leaders to translate technical research into effective policy, through executive education, case-based teaching, training in emergency preparedness and response, and the Menschel Senior Leadership Fellows Program. Global health is a common discussion topic at [The Studio](https://hsph.harvard.edu/studio/), which facilitates conversations and live events about health policy, research, and practice.

This [article](https://abcnews.com/Health/us-child-teen-obesity-rates-reach-record-high/story?id=130441952) from ABC News discusses how the rate of child and teen obesity is reaching record highs even as adult obesity is beginning to slow. Professor David Ludwig of the Harvard Chan School warns this trend is "exceptionally concerning" and that the only way to reverse the rise is to treat child obesity seriously with clinical practice and medication.
