[The Hutchins Center for African and African American Research](https://hutchinscenter.fas.harvard.edu/) at Harvard University supports research on the history and culture of people of African descent worldwide and provides a forum for collaboration and the exchange of ideas. The Hutchins Center hosts numerous projects and initiatives, including the [HipHop Archive and Research Institute](https://sites.harvard.edu/hiphoparchive); the [Project on Race and Gender in Science and Medicine](https://rgsm.fas.harvard.edu/); as well as the [Jazz Research Initiative](https://jri.fas.harvard.edu/).
