On October 28, 17 students of the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health held an informal group meeting at the Global Health Education and Learning Incubator. This was the first session for the 2016-2017 academic year of a [GHELI initiative](/news/drph-students-build-professional-camaraderie), launched in 2015, designed to create a space for DrPH students to discuss common themes in public health, share their ongoing projects, and explore ideas for future engagements.

Through ice-breakers and other interactive activities, students got to know about each other's backgrounds, talents, and previous work experience. Students will continue to meet on a monthly basis at the Incubator following an entirely student-generated agenda, with GHELI staff and senior contributors on hand to observe and provide support.
