# Innovation Spotlight: Global Learning Studio

June 10, 2021

A clear plastic shield between videographer and talent. The regular whirring of an air purifier. A border of tape on the floor, demarcating six feet of distance. These are just a few of the many adaptations the Incubator has implemented to support a healthy and safe environment for resuming selected on-site activities in its studios.

Modular, “pop up” studios have long been a part of the Incubator’s toolkit—part of Faculty Director Sue J. Goldie’s broader vision of constructing informal spaces to field-test prototypes, design instructional situations for small onsite classes, and practice with a variety of visual tools. The diverse insights surfaced from these pilots have provided a rich foundation for creative modifications that support effective multimedia production while centering public health best practices.
