Former Dean of the [Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health](https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/) Julio Frenk, now President of the University of Miami, and Incubator Director Sue J. Goldie welcomed new students to the Chan School with a new orientation week mini-course, Fundamental Concepts of Public Health (FCPH). Frenk and Goldie developed this four-day course as a way to provide a conceptual foundation for the academic work to come and bridge knowledge gaps among the diverse academic backgrounds of incoming public health master's students. The course offered numerous pedagogical innovations, incorporating visual literacy, team-teaching, and the use of conceptual frameworks to appeal to a broad set of learners.
