#  Lin Receives Masters in Science Writing

 Congratulations to GHELI’s Editorial and Digital Content Assistant, Jade Lin, on receiving her Master’s of Arts in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University on Monday, May 22, 2023.

 Lin’s program focused on both journalistic and creative science writing, where she took courses that spanned personal essay writing, multimedia forms, and an online magazine class. While held fully online, the program included in-person workshops, allowing students to engage further with each other, collaborate, and talk about science writing—an aspect of the program Lin found very rewarding. Connecting with peers provided a valuable opportunity for Lin to “talk to other writers who are into making science both interesting and accessible"—a key tenet of the program, which aims to develop and grow the field of dedicated science writers.

 Lin’s thesis, titled “An Ecology of Humanness: Exploring, Self, Society, and Nature Through Stories,” touched on the interconnection between human and natural worlds.
