Imagine a student is wrestling with a tricky concept in class. What if you, as the educator, could clarify their confusion by filming and editing a short instructional video on your mobile device? Recently, GHELI’s teaching and learning team tested out the “Studio in a Box” prototype, a project by Jake Waxman, instructional designer at the [Center for Health Decision Science](https://chds.hsph.harvard.edu/), designed to respond to this scenario.

“Studio in a Box” is a rapid, mobile production studio and workflow designed to mimic the overhead angles of the GHELI multimedia studio set-up, but created for mobile devices. Over the course of an hour, GHELI staff tried out the modular set-up by filming a quick explanatory video on ecosystems. After the hands-on workshop, the team shared feedback on the kit’s design and usability to inform its next iteration.
