Marie Montás.
Marie is a second-year (G2) PhD student in Population Health Sciences, specializing in Global Health Systems. She has an MPH in Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan. She was born and raised in the Dominican Republic (DR), where she majored in economics and served as a policy analyst at the Superintendence of Health for three years before coming to the U.S. Marie is interested in the intersection between development economics and health policy and wants to produce research for the Latin America and Sub-Saharan African regions. Specifically, she studies the impact of programs related to adolescent and maternal health, drugs, and NCDs in these contexts. She is a consultant for the Health Situation Analysis Department at the Dominican Ministry of Health, evaluating health policies.
