Center for International Development

The Center for International Development (CID) is a University-wide center based at the Harvard Kennedy School that works to advance the understanding of development challenges and to offer viable solutions to problems of global poverty. Center programs include research programs on building state capability, evidence for policy design, entrepreneurial finance, and the Growth Lab, which explores growth strategy design and potentials for change. Since 1999 the Center has published a series of working papers, available in an online library, and also works closely with the Kennedy School’s executive education program. During the academic year, CID hosts a weekly graduate student luncheon seminar and the annual Global Empowerment Meeting.
