Lin Named LGBTQ Health Voices Fellow

Jade Lin.

Congratulations to GHELI’s Editorial and Digital Content Assistant, Jade Lin, on being selected as a fellow for the inaugural LGBTQ Health Voices Fellowship. Hosted by the Center for Health Communication and the newly launched LGBTQ Health Center of Excellence, the fellowship awards LGBTQ public health leaders across Harvard with the opportunity to hone their communication skills and learn how to engage the public about LGBTQ health issues.

Along with her cohort, Lin will have the opportunity to explore how to effectively communicate about LGBTQ health issues through opinion pieces, social media content, and more. Throughout the six-month fellowship, fellows will participate in training sessions focused on writing op-eds, crafting policy briefs, and pitching to publications; Fellows will also attend monthly meetings led by Harvard faculty and opinion writers from publications such as Harvard Public Health, The Boston Globe, and STAT.

The fellowship, which invited all Harvard affiliates to apply, spearheads a program focused on spotlighting and training LGBTQ leaders within the Harvard Community and developing communication strategies to shape public discourse around LGBTQ health. The LGBTQ Health Center for Excellence, launched in June 2024, aims to provide educational training, research, and dissemination to advance health equity for LGBTQ communities.

Congratulations, Jade!
