Commemorating Climate Change and Public Health

Today is World Oceans Day—following the tail of World Environment Day on June 5th, as set by the United Nations. These days honor a global commitment to raise awareness and spur action for environmental protection. As the past few months have unfolded, we have consistently been reminded that we must work proactively to ensure that we are prepared for global threats, including climate change. Some high-impact actions can be as simple as writing to policymakers, switching to more efficient light bulbs, and sharing information about climate change with friends and family. Educators can take a peek at some of GHELI’s resources, designed to help understand climate policy in classrooms, as well as its intersections with other complex issues such as infectious disease, migration, and nutrition. Check out our curated collection on resources related to climate change and the environment, along with our hand-picked resources in our Climate Change and Public Health Resource Pack
