Incubator Adds Studio for Drawing in Learning and Teaching
The Incubator has added a new visual learning studio to its Harvard Square offices, devoted to exploring global health and global learning using innovative visual communication strategies. This immersive space houses numerous graphical tools to foster experimentation and learning, including drawing tablets, multimedia stations equipped with video editing software, and traditional drawing implements. Through workshops and immersion residencies, the Incubator staff provides guidance on using these tools to explore new teaching and learning strategies, such as support for how to combine visual explanations with narration using iPads and other equipment.
The drawing studio is one of three studio spaces at the Incubator. All of the Incubator’s Learning Studios allow teachers and students to explore, experiment, and innovate in a 'hands on' environment, using creative multimedia approaches that inspire novel pedagogy, build multimodal literacies, and contribute to an emerging visual “grammar” for teaching and learning.
