Retirement Symposium: Celebrating Dr. Milton Weinstein

July 2, 2019
Milton Weinstein.

Dr. Milton Weinstein, a longtime mentor, collaborator, and friend of Dr. Sue J. Goldie, Faculty Director of GHELI and The Center for Health Decision Science (CHDS), recently retired from a 45-year career championing the field of decision science. GHELI staff and faculty work collaboratively with CHDS to bring together knowledge and resources in both qualitative and quantitative fields to create a multidisciplinary, synergistic perspective of public health. To celebrate his contributions to the field, public health faculty, former students, deans, colleagues, and leaders from across the world gathered for a symposium in Weinstein’s honor.

Weinstein is the Henry J. Kaiser Professor of Health Policy and Management at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, and held a faculty position at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Weinstein is best known for his groundbreaking work in comparative effectiveness, and as a co-author of a fundamental book in the field of Decision Science: Clinical Decision Analysis. Dr. Goldie credited Weinstein for teaching her the “art of decision science” and making her “a better analytical thinker, communicator, and mentor.”

Though retiring from his current role, Dr. Weinstein will remain connected to the Harvard Chan School as Henry J. Kaiser Research Professor of Health Policy and Management. Find out more information about the event.
