World Hepatitis Day 2020

World Hepatitis Day is commemorated every year on July 28, drawing notice to the fact that globally, 290 million people are unaware that they are living with viral hepatitis. This significant day encourages people to spread awareness and engage in conversation in order to “find the missing millions.” Hepatitis B and C—the most common types of hepatitis to cause death—claim 1.3 million lives each year. Therefore, ensuring higher rates of affordable testing and treatment is one of the most impactful actions governments can undertake to achieve global elimination by 2030. To take action, people can sign and share the open letter urging governments to honor promises for global hepatitis elimination, engage in 1 minute actions, download and share campaign materials, and explore hepatitis fact sheets
