The Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School creates and applies social science and humanities research to improve the practice of medicine, the delivery of treatment, and the development of local and global health care policies. The Department seeks to develop the science of global health delivery implementation; to advance equity in health care delivery; and to educate students and researchers on the biosocial determinants of disease, health care delivery, and the practice of medicine. The Department hosts in-person and virtual events, has a repository of published material from faculty and associated researchers, and also aids in the structuring of global health activities at Harvard Medical School.
