Active Learning Labs

The Active Learning Labs, housed within the Harvard School of Engineering (SEAS), partners with faculty to aid in the execution of design projects and supports students in project development through design-focused pedagogy.

Christensen Center

The C. Roland Christensen Center for Teaching and Learning, housed within the Harvard Business School, promotes excellence in teaching and research through faculty coaching, sharing best practices of innovative case method teaching, convening colloquia and workshops, and researching various subjects from management teaching to education.

Derek Bok Center

The Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, a university-wide initiative, seeks to discover innovative pedagogical methods through faculty and student partnerships and develop high-quality instruction by training those in all levels of academia.

Online Learning

The Harvard Online Learning Portal provides a map of online courses and programs, and a wide range of related learning content from across Harvard's schools, initiatives, and programs. Search by discipline, collection, instructional level, platform, and degree of engagement.

HarvardX

HarvardX is a University-wide strategic initiative, overseen by the Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning, to enable faculty to build and create open online learning experiences for residential and online use and to enable groundbreaking research in online pedagogies.
 

HILT

The Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching;(HILT) catalyzes excellence in learning and teaching by building on existing strengths and forging collaborations across the university, strengthening the science of learning, and developing a network around educational innovation.

SLATE

SLATE (Strengthening Learned and Teaching Excellent), an initiative of the Harvard Kennedy School, offers professional development, consultation services, and a growing repository of teaching resources—including teaching cases—to energize and enable powerful pedagogy on public service.

The Academy

The Academy at Harvard Medical School (HMS) supports the medical community of HMS in their educational goals; facilitates the development of faculty, trainees, and students interested in medical education; provides educational programming; and supports research in pedagogical research and scholarship.

Learning Incubator

The Learning Incubator, housed within the Harvard School of Engineering (SEAS), provides infrastructure for faculty to develop novel teaching methods in engineering and science education; creates a culture of pedagogical scholarship; and presents opportunities for faculty to learn new teaching techniques.

VPAL

The Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning (VPAL) creates and catalyzes deeply engaging and scalable learning experiences for communities at Harvard and beyond. VPAL convenes communities of practice, funds educational innovation, and coordinates learning policy across the University.

Library & Museums

The Harvard Library and the Harvard Museums advance scholarship and teaching across the arts and sciences, manage knowledge and information systems, and host curated digital and research collections.

Technologies Program

With a focus on learning-centered design, the Teaching and Learning Lab supports Ed School faculty and programs in designing and developing powerful learning experiences for courses, degree and certificate programs, and professional institutes.
