The Hutchins Center for African and African American Research

The Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard University supports research on the history and culture of people of African descent worldwide and provides a forum for collaboration and the exchange of ideas. The Hutchins Center hosts numerous projects and initiatives, including the HipHop Archive and Research Institute; the Project on Race and Gender in Science and Medicine; as well as the Jazz Research Initiative. The Hutchins Center also supports a fellowship program, hosts events covering a wide range of topics, and runs the Cooper Gallery
