Program on Negotiation

The Program on Negotiation (PON) at Harvard Law School is a consortium program of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tufts University, and serves as an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to developing the theory and practice of negotiation and dispute resolution in a range of public and private settings. Negotiation requires skills that draw on emotions, ethics, public policy, psychology, and management, and usually takes place in response to tensions and crises that can impact health at both individual and societal levels. PON program affiliates include the Harvard International Negotiation Program, which develops cutting-edge ideas to address the systemic challenges of modern conflict. PON and its affiliated partners offer educational courses, projects, and curricula related to the art of negotiation, the psychology of conflict, conflict in the Middle East, and sustainable peace at all levels of society.
