Gallery Spaces at GHELI

Our curated art galleries foster interdisciplinary dialogue in our physical spaces at GHELI and are designed for visitors to gather, observe, and discuss broad topics on global health. For anyone who cannot visit our space, we also have digital tours of the galleries in order to reach a virtual audience.

Population Health Challenges: Influencing Policy and Inspiring Action

Student gallery.

The artwork displayed in our “Population Health Challenges: Influencing Policy and Inspiring Action” exhibit was created by Harvard College students as a part of a final project for a General Education course on world health taught by Professor Goldie. Their assignment was to systematically analyze a societal health challenge that they were passionate about, and to create a “real-world” product intended to influence policy or motivate a change in thinking or behavior. Projects have represented a breadth of issues across the global health landscape, and the diversity reflected in their creative choices has been remarkable—students have created policy analyses, multimedia videos, educational podcasts, campaigns for social change, original artwork, micro websites, and even a choreographed dance.

Originally featuring projects and reflective interviews done in person with the 2019 class, we have expanded the exhibit to include exemplary selections from the last five years as well. Browse a virtual gallery of creative projects from the 2024 offering of Gen Ed 1063 or dive into our full gallery of artwork and multimedia on our Studios page.

Foundations for Public Health

Foundations for Public Health gallery.

The drawings displayed in our gallery, “Foundations for Public Health,” were created by GHELI Faculty Director, Professor Sue J. Goldie. Dr. Goldie uses visual tools and drawings to promote conceptual understanding, strategic thinking, and effective communication in her online courses. Offsite visitors can take a virtual tour of the drawings and lessons in this digital gallery.
