Korea Institute

The Korea Institute is an autonomous institution within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and is Harvard's only organization devoted solely to the support and development of Korean studies at Harvard. It sponsors the flagship Korea Colloquium seminar series, which brings national and international scholars to Harvard to present and discuss their current work on Korea. Past topics have included suicide, population growth, and economic recession. Other Institute programs include the Leadership Forum, which provides support for a limited number of affiliated scholars each year, and research on projects related to Korea across history. The Institute provides summer travel grants for Harvard undergraduates and master's degree candidates as well as fellowships and dissertation grants for graduate students.
