Multimedia Workshop for Teaching Fellows
Teaching fellows from the course Decision Science for Public Health, RDS 202, offered in Spring 2025, joined faculty director Sue J. Goldie and senior scholar in residence Eve Wittenberg for a multimedia storytelling workshop focused on visual teaching techniques. This highlight reel captures the event, which leveraged the Incubator’s expertise in multimodal learning and pedagogy experimentation.
The workshop opened with a warm-up exercise to explain a simple concept using visual storytelling. Equipped with drawing and writing materials, teaching fellows sketched and role-played as teacher/student to explain topic(s) of their choosing. Participants then transitioned to a student-relevant task, creating a 60-second “elevator pitch” on their research. Using a “studio-in-a-box” multimedia station, they iteratively rehearsed and refined their pitch with further mentorship provided by Goldie and Wittenberg.
